General questions

This section includes the most frequently asked questions up to now by the users of the tariff simulator. If you do not find the answer to one of your questions, do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail at the following address: infotarsim@ibpt.be.

If this question is often asked, we will integrate it in this “FAQ”

How does the tariff comparison system work?

At first the system invites you to indicate your telephony consumption habits (How long do you call? Do you call during the day or in the evening? How many hours do you spent online on the Internet per month?, etc.).

Besides, all operators offering telephony services in Belgium are obliged to introduce in the system their tariffs and main information about the level of quality of the services they offer.

Depending on the information you have provided about your consumption habits, the system will calculate how much it would cost you every month to use such-and-such tariff plan.

Then the system will provide you a list of the most advantageous tariff plans in terms of price, as well as the qualitative elements linked to these plans.

Which tariff plan should I choose?

We underline insistently that in order to work, the comparison system must integrate a certain number of assumptions and so uncertainties.

So the result proposed must be understood as an indication about the most advantageous tariff plans depending on your consumption profile and not as a formal opinion to use a given tariff plan.

Moreover you should not lose sight of the qualitative aspect and mainly the quality-price ratio. It is up to you to determine if the qualitative elements are such as to justify the choice of a more expensive tariff plan than the one proposed in the first place.

Why am I not able to see my tariff plan?

The tariff plans of the residential customers currently available and fed in by the operators are contained in the tariff simulator.

However, it is possible that your tariff plan is no longer proposed to new customers. In this case, please contact your operator in order to obtain information about this tariff plan.

It is also possible that the operator has not introduced any tariff plan. If so could you indicate it, we will question the operator to assess the reasons why he did not fed any tariff plan in the system.

Is VAT included in the results of the call costs?

All indicated prices include VAT. (currently 21 %).
